Adventures of a Seven Month Old

FOOD: Here's the deal with food...despite the face I am making in the picture, I love food! I have tried so many different things over the past month. Some of my favorites include cottage cheese, avocado, pears, sweet potato and bread. Anytime mommy is eating something, I politely open my mouth and wait for a taste. Thanks to the warning from Auntie Margaret, mommy learned not to panic every time I tried something new and made a gagging sound. It's just my mouth getting used to new flavors and textures.

CHARLEY: I have officially discovered our dog and mommy is worried I am going to terrorize him! I follow him everywhere. Little do Charley and mommy and daddy know, I am trying to be his best friend. When I pull on the hair around his mouth and pull his tail, it's just me showing some affection. The other day I really irritated him. I went over to his dog dish and turned it over causing all of his food and water to spill. Poor Charley looked at my mom as if to say "What are you going to do about it?" Mommy was too busy laughing so Charley took the situation into his own hands. He grabbed his dog dish with his teeth and went in to our living room and sat by his dish and would not let me go near it.

TUBING: This past weekend I went to Nonna and Papa's house. I didn't know they had a swimming pool in their bathroom with swimming toys! I had a blast. The pool was just the right size for me. I was hoping they'd join me for a swim, but they just smiled and laughed. Charley tried to come in but mommy wouldn't let him. My adventures in their pool was good practice for when I go to Grammi and Dziadzia's house in Maine this summer.

CRAWLING: Last week it became official. I can crawl! Even more of a reason that Charley is scared of me. Watch out...I'm on my way. I especially love crawling to Dziadzia's glasses case. You should see me move when I see that shiny object. So far, I've discovered the fireplace, drawers, outlets and cords. Mommy says she has to baby-proof the house. I hope she's not doing that for my benefit...all of these objects are so much fun.

OYSTERING: I went oystering with Papa and Daddy on Sunday. We brought back so many oysters. Daddy and Papa did a good job cleaning them. I helped by wearing my apron and watching. Nonna made amazing oysters. They looked so good. My mouth was watering but I couldn't try one yet. Mommy and daddy said they were the best oysters they've ever had.
