Summer Adventures- My First Hair Cut

At the end of July I got my first haircut.  Mommy was very hesitant to cut off the curls but she was getting tired of me being mistaken for a girl.  Also, other people hinted to her that it might be time for me to get my haircut.

So, one Friday morning mommy took me over to Sportsmens Barbershop.  I was not quite sure what was happening at first.  In fact, I was kind of excited to sit in the big chair and look at myself in the mirror while mommy took pictures of me.

And then I realized this whole adventure was probably not going to be as much fun as I thought so I decided to get in the zone and think about fun things I like to do such as go to the park and take Charley for walks.  As you can tell, I didn't cry once but I did get a glazed look in my eyes for the entire duration of the haircut.  I wouldn't give mommy a smile because I wasn't quite sure what was happening.

Are we done yet?  Not only did I have to get my haircut but they had to spray my hair with a water bottle and make me sit still for what seemed like an eternity.  In actuality, it was probably only 5-10 minutes.

Here is the end result.  The thing that makes mommy and me happiest is that I have not been mistaken for a girl since I got my haircut.  I wonder if I'll be so patient the next time I go.  I was hoping to have my first lollipop after I was done but mommy told me I was too young.  This seems so unfair...I'm old enough to get my haircut but too young to have a lollipop?  What is wrong with this picture!

Until next time, the little big guy

What! No lollipop for being such a good mellow guy during your haircut!!!
Well you know what your bib says..."If mama says "no" ask granny" I won't give you a lollipop, but we can make some homemade ice cream or oatmeal cookies the next time you are here on Cape Cod. I love you little guy!
