Underground Train and Cleaning the Beach

On Sunday, mommy, daddy, Adelaide and I headed into Boston for the morning. The first place we went was to the North End for breakfast. After we ordered, daddy asked me if I wanted to make his coffee for him and I happily agreed. I think it was a secret ploy to keep me occupied while we waited for our food, but it did the trick! By the time I had made mommy and daddy's coffee for them, the food arrived. Blueberry pancakes and sausage hit the spot and gave us enough energy to begin our long walk that awaited us!

On our way to Faneuil Hall, we stopped and took a little rest. Mommy thought it might be a good photo opportunity but Adelaide and I did not want to cooperate. Don't worry mommy, we'll give you the picture when you least expect it!

While I was resting, daddy gave me a little airplane ride. It was really fun!!!

Once we got to Faneuil Hall, I showed Adelaide around. I told her the places she needed to go when she got older. At Faneuil Hall, I decided we needed to to a park with a playground. Mommy and daddy told us we were going to go to the Boston Commons. Imagine my joy when we arrived and there was a playground waiting for me!

The playground was the perfect size for me to run around and do all the different play structures by myself. Adelaide was a little bit young but she seemed to enjoy watching me.

There was also a frog there that spouted water from his mouth. I figured out that there is a little button that controls when the water comes out. Everyone else was occupied by the water and I'm busy looking around for the button to make this work. Go figure!

We were all pretty tired by the time we finished playing at the park so daddy suggested we take the underground train! What...an underground train!!!! I was SO SO excited. We went down some stairs and bought two tickets. Adelaide and I didn't have to pay because we were so little but mommy let me hold her ticket and put it in the slot to pass through to the subway.

I was very focused when we got on the subway. We took it a few stops until we arrived near our car.

After the subway, on the way to the car, we found a water area where we could run around in the water. Adelaide and I enjoyed doing that for a few minutes before we finally decided we had enough. Mommy and daddy told me that we were going to Grammi and Dzia Dzia's house later to celebrate mommy's birthday. But, before we did that, daddy and I planned some special time together just the two of us. Adelaide and mommy went off on a little project to get ready for my birthday. Daddy and I walked down to the beach from our house to play and noticed that the beach was a little bit dirty so the two of us spent some time cleaning up the beach to make it look nicer. As mommy and daddy always tell me, it's important to take care of the world we live in. Daddy really taught me about that today. Thank you, daddy!

Finally, it was time to head to Grammi and Dzia Dzia's house for mommy's birthday. All of the regulars were there...including Lorelai. Ah, Lorelai. I really love my cousin. At night I tell mommy that I am going to dream about her. She's a pretty cool little buddy.

Not only was there dinner, but also a pie for mommy's birthday. Lorelai, Adelaide and I sat on mommy's lap so we could actually blow the candles out and eat the whipped cream off of the candles.

Grammi took me to pick something very special out for mommy and what do you think I got for her? Well, I KNOW how much she loves playing trains with me so OF COURSE I got her a motorized Emily train. We have spent hours playing with it since Sunday. I also sleep with it every night and I tuck Emily in real tight next to me so she stays cozy. I think mommy really loves her present. I am so thoughtful:)!

Thomas!!!

After we left Cape Cod, mommy and daddy had an early birthday surprise for me. Unfortunately, daddy couldn't make it because he had lots and lots of schoolwork (have I mentioned lately how proud I am of him!) but mommy, Adelaide and I headed to the Day Out With Thomas Event. I was so so excited to see Thomas, Emily and all my favorite characters. There was so much to do and the pictures pretty much speak for themselves!

Being able to touch Thomas was hands down one of the coolest things I've done in my almost 3 years of life. I asked mommy if it was okay and she told me it was so I got to spend a few seconds with him.

The train ride itself was okay but mommy and daddy took me on an adventure ride yesterday that REALLY got me excited!

Cape Cod Adventure

On Wednesday morning, we headed down to Cape Cod to see Nonna and Papa for a few days. First, we stopped to see mommy's friend Rebecca and her new baby Huck. I had fun playing in her backyard and going for a walk with them. I took a little nap on the way to Nonna and Papa's house and when I woke up we were in their driveway. Nonna came out to see me and told me there was a surprise waiting for Adelaide and me. Imagine my excitement when I realized there was a play structure in their backyard. I was SO beyond happy. I couldn't believe it.

Adelaide and I spent hours over the next few days playing outside on the swings, going down the slide and climbing up the rock wall. Every day we went outside at least two or three times to play on the new swingset. As if Cape Cod wasn't exciting enough!!!

After we got settled in, Nonna, Mommy, Adelaide and I headed to the beach. Adelaide spent the entire time being a bathing beauty because she apparently does not like sand or the water. She sat in her one spot and played with anything she could find nearby.

I, on the other hand, scoped out the situation and after playing with some beach toys I noticed some older boys digging a really big hole. They looked like they needed another helper so mommy walked me over and we asked if I could play with them. They were so nice and said I could and helped me dig in the sand. They were like 5 or 6 years...I felt pretty cool!

On Wednesday night, we went to a Jamaican buffet. The food was good but the music was great. I kept on trying to get my groove on but I had no friends to dance with. The Jamaican buffet was at Coonamessett Farm.

The adventures on the Cape continued with a trip to the Barnstable library where we saw an animal display.

For the past few years I've been hesitant to go on a bike ride with anyone but mommy but this visit I decided I wanted to go for a ride with Papa. After we got my helmet on, I got in the seat and Papa took me for a really fun ride around the neighborhood.

Here are a few more random pictures from the really fun visit to Cape Cod. The last one is a picture with Nonna and Papa's friend Kim who was there the last day we were there. She was really nice and we had fun playing with her!

Two Big Steps

So I don't normally bloggedy blog two days in a row, but today was an exciting day for me for two reasons. The first is this slide. I have been eyeing this slide at our favorite park for almost a year. It's a big loop. Well, last time we came I asked mommy and Adelaide to go down it with me and the three of us went down together and it made me realize there is nothing to be afraid of. Today when we got to the park mommy asked if I wanted her to do it with me and I said that I could do it all by myself. I went down and did it over and over again. I can now pretty much do everything on my own at the park. The rest of the pictures that follow are all from the adventure we had today at the park. The second exciting thing is that I am really starting to get the hang of this whole potty thing. I only had one accident today. The rest of the day I wore my Thomas underpants and used the potty. Like mommy says, one day at a time but today she was VERY VERY proud of me.

Bars and Parties

No, I'm not spending my time hanging out in bars. I am talking about the uneven bars that I can now swing from by myself. Last week was my last class at the Little Gym (really it's this Thursday but we are heading to the Cape to see Nonna and Papa). At my last class, I showed mommy all of the things I learned how to do. I walk across the low beam by myself.

I can easily navigate all the tumble mats and climb without help.

The next picture is of my very favorite thing! The Air Track! Hooray! Every few weeks the instructor brings it out. We all sit on it while it inflates. I actually get to help the instructor do the countdown and push the button. As you all know, I love buttons! They are my favorite. Anyway, once this air track is inflated we follow the round disks over to it and bounce our way down to the end. SO much fun!!!

I am getting stronger arms. I can swing on the uneven bars by myself. One class, with the help of the instructor, I even moved from the low bar to the high bar. I was feeling rather brave that day. I haven't done it since then but at least I know I can!!!

The beam! This has been one of my other favorites since day one. With mommy's help I like to walk across the high beam. I also can sit on it without help.

This is the biggest development of all. For weeks, we've been working on somersaults in class. I never wanted to do one but I was watching. A few weeks ago I asked mommy if we could practice at home and so we started practicing. Finally, at my very last class, I decided it was time to do one without mommy. The instructor helped me and over I went! The Little Gym was really great for me. When I started I was a little bit shy and nervous about trying new things but by the end I was happy that we did the class.

On Friday, we got together with mommy's friend Jen and Ava and Ryan. We went to the new park at Salem Common and then to Puleo's for ice cream. There was a little cow there and I couldn't wait to insert my face into it!

I have been waiting for this weekend for a few weeks! First, it was Cameron's birthday party at his house! His mommy made a huge train out of cardboard and we all got to paint this train. Here I am with Cameron. You can see Adelaide in the background getting ready to join us.

Roberta also had pin the propeller on the airplane. I ended up sneaking a peek and putting it in it's exact place!

One of the best parts of all was the cake! We all sang Happy Birthday and then it was time for some yummy cake! After Cameron's birthday, we headed to Nick's birthday at a farm. Mommy's camera ran out of batteries so we don't have any pictures but let's just say it was fun! There was a tractor ride, pizza, cake, pinata and strawberry picking! Overall a really great day!
